Day 16 Prayers
1.Praise God
God, My Good Shepherd: I Bless Your name and praise You as my Jehovah-Rohi (The Lord My Shepherd), who will shepherd me and guide me in the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Ps. 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
2. Personal Prayers from Colossians
Please turn me away from all immorality, passion, greed and idolatry and encourage and empower me by Your Holy Spirit to choose YOU. Col. 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
3. Biblical Virtues to Pray for your Children and Grandchildren
Peace-Loving: Father, let my children see good examples of making peace, let them choose peace and make every effort to do what leads to peace. Rom. 14:19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
4. Spiritual Dynamics for Teens
Maturity: Pray that teenagers will witness, be taught and desire to grow so that they may discern good from evil. Heb. 5:12-14 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
5. Pray for Our Pastor
Pray for every pastor to honestly and passionately proclaim the Gospel so that all believers in their congregation be “born again” and be equipped in their calling and gifting. Heb. 13:20-21 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 1Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
6. Pray for Our Church
Pray that God will strengthen all our marriages, to heal struggling marriages, and bring reconciliation to those contemplating divorce or reconciled to unsatisfying coexistence. Fill these homes with love, mercy, grace, and hope. Col. 3:18-19 Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands love your wives and do not be harsh with them. Phil. 2:4-5 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.
7. Prayers for Public Schools
Children of Divorce, Abuse, and Neglect: Father of the fatherless, heal school children whose homes and hearts are ravaged by divorce, abandonment, addicted parents and/or domestic violence. Protect them from physical harm and emotional scars. Bring people into their lives who will pour out Your healing Word into the broken places in their hearts. James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
8. Pray for People in Authority
Pray that all government authorities, officials will be honest in financial, tax, and ethical matters. Romans 13:7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor. Proverb 11:1 The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him.
9. Prayers That Birth Revival
2Chron. 7:14 “If my people … and will humble themselves and will pray and SEEK MY FACE…” Pray that God will increase our ability to believe in HIS love and power to do the impossible especially in times of crisis. Pray that we would forgo the fleshly appetites of food, entertainment, and pleasure to seek the face of God. Matt. 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Mark 9:24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
10. Prayer for Marriages
Pray that both members of a marriage will be strengthened by the Word and the Holy Spirit to resist temptations like selfishness, idolatry, flirting, infidelity, pornography, drugs, alcohol, etc. that can destroy marriages. Gal. 5:19-21 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
11. Prayer for America
Lord, please strengthen and encourage those in the media who are willing to stand for Your truth and practice honest, fair and accurate reporting. Convert or remove those who would use the media to put forth their own selfish agendas and proclaim their lies and distortions. Give discernment to all who know and love you to be able to sift through the untruths and rely on Your steadfast Word. Prov. 4:24-26 Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.
12. Prayers to Bless Israel
Pray for a spirit of unity – for peace between religious and secular Jews and for peace toward and between Christ followers. John 17:23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
