DAY 5 PRAYERS
1. Praise God
A Loving God: I praise You because You are a loving God, whose very nature is Love. 1 John 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
2. Personal Prayers from Colossians
Help me to bear fruit daily in the work I do and increase in the knowledge of you. Colossian 1:10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.
3. Biblical Virtues to Pray for your Children and Grandchildren
Self-control: Father, help my children no to be like many people around them, but let them be alert and self-controlled in all they do. 1 Thes. 5:6 So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.
4. Spiritual Dynamics for Teens
Simplicity: Pray for an uncomplicated lifestyle by realizing their spiritual gifts and serving accordingly. Rom. 12:6-8 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
5. Pray for Our Pastor
Pray for blessings of good health – emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical; for self-control in eating for healthy exercise and sleep patterns. 1 Cor. 6: 19-20 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.
6. Pray for Our Church
Pray for the lost in our churches to come to a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus and crossover from death to life by faith. 2 Cor. 4:6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. John 5:24 Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
7. Prayers for Public Schools
Integrity: “I pray that any financial, educational, administrative, sexual corruption that affect this school would be exposed and healed. Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
8. Pray for People in Authority
That they recognize their own inadequacy and pray and seek the will of God. Proverbs 3:5-8 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.
9. Prayers That Birth Revival
“IF MY PEOPLE….” 2 chron. 7:14 “Will Humble Themselves” Pray that young Christians will be clothed with humility, respecting their elders, lifting all their concerns to God, and trusting God to exalt them at the proper time. 1 Peter 5:5-10 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
10. Prayer for Marriages
I pray You make our marriage a safe relationship and help us to cultivate openness, honesty, and trust. Ps. 4:8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. 1 Cor. 13:7 It [Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Col 2:2-3 My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
11. Prayer for America
Grant wisdom and courage to all those who serve in our Congress and all elected officials across this country. Let them not be distracted from governing by the lure of money, power, or fame. Encourage them to always stand for what is right and to faithfully serve those who have put their trust in them. Proverbs 2:1-5 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding— indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
12. Prayers to Bless Israel
Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. Let them be as grass upon the housetop, which withers before it grows up. Lord deal justly and swiftly with Your enemies. Ps. 129:5-6 May all who hate Zion be turned back in shame. May they be like grass on the roof, which withers before it can grow.
