I don’t know about you, but do you ever get the sense as you are living your daily life that something needs to change with our current situation? The spiritual condition of families or our community, or whatever it may be. Have you ever thought I wish this could change (whatever that may be in your life) and why doesn’t someone do something about it?
I think we all have a tendency to look at the situation we are in and think that someone has to do something. Someone has to make changes. Yet, we fail to realize that we aren’t doing anything about it ourselves. Maybe it’s us that needs to make a change. Maybe it’s us that needs to be a part of the solution as opposed to just sitting back and talking about what others need to do.
Why am I saying all this? To be honest I hear people talking about the current situation in our public schools and how we can’t pray in school, we can’t bring a bible to school, we can’t even mention the name of Jesus, and our children are being raised in the way of the world. So you might be thinking what can I do, how can I make a difference?
You can make a difference! We have access to the public schools which is available to us so that we are able to share the truth of our Creator and the love of Jesus with these students through after school Good News Clubs®. We just have to be willing to step forward and say I want to make a difference and I want to make myself available to be used by God in order to impact the lives of our children here in our community and public schools. This is what one mother did at a school in Nampa that her children attend. She was also able to get eight other mothers from that school to join her in sharing the gospel with these children in this school.
I pray that more people (like this mother) would join us in reaching more children in our schools so that the impact would be greater. This is only one of many elementary schools here in the Treasure Valley but I can assure you that this will have a big impact on the lives of these children not only right now but in their immediate future. The impact is far reaching and is greater than we can ever know or even see in this very moment, but I can tell you from past experience that this will be a life changing experience for students, volunteers, and the parents.
So what are you waiting for?
